CADILLAC CTS CADILLAC CTS C A U T I O N Prior to installation, be sure your vehicle is parked on a level surface andthe exhaust system is cool. For safety purposes and ease of installation, weurge you to take your vehicle to a qualified service center or muffler installerthat employs the use of a lift. Exhaust System Removal: 1) After your vehicle is properly secured and there is enough clearance towork under the vehicle, the first step is to determine where to cut the factoryfront muffler outlet pipe. Using a tape measure, measure from the weldbead on the outlet side of the Center Muffler back 1-1/2 and mark theconnecting pipe (See FIG A). NOTE: Recheck your measurement 2) Using a saw or a chain-style cutter, cut the connecting pipe at the 1-1/2 mark (See FIG. B). Let exhaust system rest on cross member. NOTE: Use a file to remove any burrs from the cut off section of the pipe. 3) The next step is to remove the Rear Muffler from its hangers. Pry eachof the three hangers loose form the rubber insulators (See FIG. C). Nextremove the hanger on the Intermediate Pipe. Be sure to have a firm gripof the muffler as it will fall down when the last hanger is removed. NOTE: Be sure to keep the rubber insulators as they will be neededfor installation of the new exhaust system. 4) Now the system can be removed in one piece. TOOLS/SUPPLIES NEEDED: Safety glasses, masking tape, 13mm deep socket, 15mmdeep socket, socket extension, torque wrench, tape measure, saw or chain-style pipecutter, file, a high-speed trim wheel or reciprocating air saw (such as a rotary high speedspiral saw by Dremel) and a low speed buffing or flapper wheel to smooth cut edges. 1 CORSA Performance 140 Blaze Industrial Parkway Berea, Ohio 44017-2930 P. 800.486.0999 F. 440.891.1868 E – m a i l : s a l e s @ c o r s a p e r f . c o m w w w . c o r s a p e r f . c o m INS5022 5/6/05 FIG. Do not attempt to makeany modifications to parts as this will void your warranty. 2003 All 2004 3.2L 5-speed manual transmission All Torca clamps should be tightened using a properly calibrated Torque Wrench.Using an air impact gun will damage the clamp and reduce its ability to effectivelyseal the joint. F FIG. I FIG. J FIG. G FIG. H Trimming of Rear Valance for Exhaust Tips: 1) Before the new exhaust system can be installed, the rear valance mustbe trimmed for exhaust tip clearance. Hold template in position to determinewhere to place masking tape (See FIG. D). Template should be positionedin valance groove on the side you are working on. Be sure entire area thatneeds to be marked is covered with tape. Re-tape as necessary. 2) After applying masking tape, position template and trace the outline (SeeFIG. E & F). Repeat this procedure on the opposite side of the vehicle. 3) Use tool such as a high-speed trim wheel or reciprocating air saw to trimwithin the ou
