Summary This document shows how owners of C5 platform A6 or allroad vehicles with an Infotainment CAN Bus are able to safely take advantage of the all the valuable functionality that a CAN Bus based multi-function steering wheel can provide. This significantly enhances the user experience of the RNS-E and BT telephone installations that have been so thoroughly documented on the Navplus.US forum. Most of the information will also be relevant to the B5, D2 and TT platforms. It also applies to these models if you have a manual gearbox and/or do not want a heated wheel. It does not apply to B6, B7 or A3 platforms. If the MFSW system is not provided at the factory on an Audi A6 C5 platform there are no components that support it included in the vehicle build. The work documented here is novel and differs significantly from what has been recorded elsewhere by giving comprehensive details of the research and design work required for implementation. Challenges particular to installation in rest of the world models have been addressed as well as those for vehicles built for the USA market. Part 1 covers research and design Part 2, to follow in late December 2006 will be a photographic record of the implementation Please raise any comments or change requests via the MFSW C5 Research & Design Paper thread in the Navplus.US Multimedia section. 1. Okay a great deal I have had The car as about three weeks At present. this wasn’t until a week afterwards when I was driving The vehicle by night, I noticed the The headlights of The car and also including the interior lights were dimming slightly as well as Getting brighter again (every two seconds The lights may dim, rather Later go back how to normal) at the very same time, I also know a faint whining noise that seemed how to following The very same system as The lights (off as well as going on, not continuous). the next morning I drove the auto, and also every by the headlights off, The whining continued. I also checked went this i has coming out of The AC, but that was not this. it didn’t routinely occur every time turned the auto at. this seemed likes this may transpire with regards to 10 minutes after I started driving it. also, the headlights only flickered when The engine i has by use of. ever so I decided how to take it To The dealership. They stated it i has the alternator, proportionately they replaced it for $700. Four days passed after they Fixed it and also the car i has fine. it wasn’t until yesterday I seen the very same thing most over again. may someone say to me what exactly is improper? (the vehicle is in amazing problem otherwise via only 50thousand miles by this).
