INTRODUCTION Please refer to the user guide of the product for instructions on operation, care and maintenance, including important safety information. This guide briefly describes how to install and start using Nokia PC Suite. For more detailed information on the use of PC Suite, please refer to the online Help in the PC Suite applications. Nokia PC Suite consists of the following applications:  Nokia Application Installer allows you to install Java TM applications from your PC in the phone  Nokia Image Converter allows you to modify images and transfer them in your mobile phone as wallpapers, contact images and MMS pictures, depending on the phone model you are using  Nokia Sound Converter allows you to convert General MIDI ringing tones into Scalable Polyphony MIDI tones for your phone  Nokia Phone Browser allows you to manage some of the phone’s folders through your PC browser, as well as open other PC Suite applications  Nokia PC WAP Manager helps you manage your WAP bookmarks and service settings  Nokia Phone Editor enables you to send short messages and edit your phone’s contents (e.g. contacts and settings) conveniently from your PC  Nokia PC Sync allows you to synchronize contacts and calendar items between your phone and your PC Personal Information Manager  Nokia Connection Manager allows you to choose the connection type used when connecting your PC and your phone  Nokia Content Copier lets you copy data between two Nokia phones, back up data on your Nokia phone to a compatible PC, and erase data from the phone  Nokia data modem adapters which enable you to use your phone as a modem in data calls  Nokia Modem Options which enables you to set options for the data calls you make 2/6 2. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS To install and run PC Suite, you need:  Windows 98/Me/2000/XP (Professional and Home Edition)  At least 150 MB of free disk space. To use online helps with the PC Suite, you need:  Internet Explorer 4.0 or newer. For a connection between the phone and the PC, you need at least one of the following connection sets:  An IrDA port in your computer.  The DKU-5 connection cable. Note: In this guide, all references to a PC (Personal Computer) apply equally to a laptop computer. Note: If you have the first releases of Windows 2000, you may need to download the IrCOMM mode
