Tutorial on Association Analysis Using SAP BW
Invoke the data mining workbench using transaction RSDMWB, followed by Enter
You get the following data mining workbench window (Customer Behavior Modeling):
Expand Association analysis (Technical Name ASSOCIATION) by LMC on the triangle
icon ( ) to the left to get the following window: If you do not see the Technical Name column, LMC on the Technical Name On/Off
icon to display Technical names.
RMC on Association Analysis (Technical Name: SAP_Association_Discovery) to get LMC on the button
Create Model context menu.
LMC on Create Model context menu to invoke the Model Creation Wizard.
Give the model a name, a description, and the query on which it is based.
In the following we used the following:
Model Description: Business Analytics Associations Model 1
The list of selected fields is pre-filled with the InfoObjects from the query.
Mark the unnecessary fields (0COPAREVEN and 0COPASLQTY) by LMC on the boxes to their left.
Move the fields marked above to the column “Unused fields” by pushing the button Then, LMC on the button.
You get the Maintain Model Fields step as below.
We set the 0BPARTNER as TRN (transaction) and 0MATERIAL as ITM (item) by LMC on the icons.
Then, LMC on the button
We proceed to setting the model parameters, and used the following values:
Minimum Support:
Minimum Confidence
Minimum Lift
Maximum Leading Depth
Maximum Dependence Depth
We then specify the training source, as shown below.
Maintain the mapping between model fields and query fields.
All requirements for the Association model have been specified, so we just complete the process by LMC on the button.
The Associations Model is now complete – but not activated. Hence, its Version is Modified and its State is New.
To Activate the model LMC on the Activate () button. Notice how the Version changed to Active.
Now DMC on the ASSOCIATIONTRAINING1 and notice that
Its Version is set to Modified and
Its State is set to New.
